Mission

The aforecited vision is rooted in Bicol University’s mandate as provided in RA 5521 which is “to give professional and technical training and provide advanced and specialized instruction in literature, philosophy, the sciences and arts, besides providing for the promotion or technological researches, (Sec. 20).” Hence, the BU graduates shall be distinguished by their industry, nationalism and integrity. Along this line, extension service to the community and resource generation through its various productive endeavors shall complement the University’s mandated instruction-research function.

Goals

Provide professional and technical training as well as specialized instruction in communication, language, literature, cultures and the arts.

Produce dynamic and highly competitive graduates distinguished by their industry, nationalism and integrity in the fields of communication, communication technology, language and literature, culture, and the performing arts.

Develop competent, responsive, critical, and humane professional, capable of delivering the highest quality of service along their specialized fields, thereby promoting truth and justice towards the attainment of regional, national, and global goals.

Undertake research and extension services to the community in communication, language, literature and the arts that respond to regional, national, and global concerns.

Provide professional and technical services to various stakeholder, in support of the mandated of the university on instruction, research, extension, and production.

                  The Bicol University is a state university in Legazpi city that offers 67 degrees dispersed in different colleges namely Education (CE) in Daraga; Engineering (CENG) and Industrial Technology (CIT) in EM's Barrio, also referred as the East Campus;  and across the Legazpi main campus are the Graduate School (GS); Science (CS); Arts and Letters (CAL); Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP); Business, Economics and Management (CBEM); Nursing (CN); Open University (OU); and the Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Recreation (IPESR).  Including its twig colleges, Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) in Guinobatan; Polangui Campus (PC) in Polangui, Albay; Tabaco Campus (TC) in Tabaco, Albay

Bicol University has maintained its academic excellence since 1969 back then. Just to rectify the notion it has been (progressive form) an excellent university that is continuous and firm in producing competitive and productive students. It has been the central university for the Bicolanos wherein the number of students prevails compare to other universities. Nothing to wonder because the reason is not just about the high quality of educational system but also because of its low cost tuition fee. And that is a great thing about Bicol University as it gives access to the son/daughter of low income family. 

You cannot be called a purely Bicol University student if you wasn't able to perform this very prominent dance, the so called "HATAW". It is performed by the 1st and 2nd year students as a requisite for the P.E. subject. Just imagine a mob dance that you are dancing together with the tremendous number of students.

  All throughout my experience, Bicol University is a community or should I say a working community by which you will find several aspects of life, creeds, principles, philosophies etc. through the interaction with different people that would convey you to become a better person. A community which tend to serve plenty fruits of knowledge that the students need to harvest. In business aspect, it is like a company that accepts investment which ensures a greater assurance of gaining a profit as exchange. Once you took your pace in Bicol University you might say to yourself "my God, I'm so grateful that Romeo told me about this great place, he is a genius" hahahahahaha just to mumble. Anyway, I'll tell you my friend you will probably love this place so would you dare to step up?

   Bicol University is a place that will reprimand the usage of the word "dreams" rather to replace with "goals" and that goal will turn to reality in the advent of time. Because reality is what we aim for.......;)
